Reducing Food Insecurity for Children and Families

GFWC Clearwater Community Woman’s Club’s new signature initiative for 2024-2025 is to combat food insecurity for children and families in Pinellas County by establishing new school food pantries.

One in four children in our area is food insecure. Food is the most basic of human needs and hunger has been associated with academic and behavioral impairments in school going children. Families rely on school meals and food pantries to provide nutritious food.

Our goal is to create or support two new school pantries for needy families.

We can use your help! No donation is too small. We appreciate your support to improve the health and well-being of children in Clearwater.

Between December 2022 and May 2023, we presented Created Women Inc a total of $55,000.00. These donations provided funding for much needed long-term housing and programs in Pinellas County for women survivors of human trafficking served by Created.

With your help, we raised over $100,000 through our 2022 and 2023 Champa Bay Elimination Dinners. The remaining funds will be disbursed in 2024 to provide continued support for the safe house and programs.

Created Women Inc. is a Tampa-based nonprofit organization that supports and helps restore vulnerable women who are trapped in the sex industry. The organization has recently established a safe house in Pinellas County for survivors of human trafficking, with support provided by Clearwater Community Woman's Club. The home can house eight women and offers, in addition to basic human needs, all the support services that these women require to get back on their feet and safely continue working towards independent living.

“Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.” - Sally Koch

We are a 501c(3) organization.  We give in-kind donations throughout the year and give Daisy Grants annually to local non-profit organizations that are doing good work in our communities. Over the years, we've given grants to organizations that help handicapped children, unwed mothers, the blind, canine companions, and many others.

We welcome your donation.
