Women Making a Difference
About Us
Mission Statement
Enhancing lives in our community through friendship, volunteerism, and education.

Who are we?
We are women who want to make a difference in our community. We are active volunteers in a wide variety of local and national organizations and we work together to serve others.
We are members of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), an international organization of more than 80,000 members, devoted to making the world a better place through volunteerism.
We are members of the Florida Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC Florida), working with others in Florida to make a difference in our state.
We are united in our diversity because we realize "it is the little things that create differences,
that in the big things of life we are at one." Those "big things" we support are initiatives that enhance the lives of women worldwide.

Our Community Service Programs
Every CCWC member belongs to a Community Service Program (CSP). Members choose a CSP based on their interest and can change the CSP of their choice during Membership renewal each year. Each CSP plans a program for one monthly meeting during the Club year, and it generally pertains to their area of interest. The CSPs also plan service activities and field trips, and also support CCWCs fundraising endeavors and membership growth.
Arts and Culture CSP - Supporting creativity and cultural awareness
The study of art and culture enriches the human experience. Art education improves problem solving and critical thinking skills, builds focus and perseverance, and nurtures creativity, confidence, and collaboration. Cultural awareness promotes effective communication and profoundly increases the ability to appreciate and enjoy a variety of new people and experiences.
Civic Engagement and Outreach CSP - Encouraging civics and social responsibility
The GFWC Civic Engagement and Outreach Community Service Program reminds GFWC members that each of us is a part of a larger society and is responsible for undertaking actions that will create a better quality of life and foster a sense of community—locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. The four "broad strokes" of this effort include: Citizenship; Crime Prevention, Safety, and Disaster Preparedness; the Needy, Hungry, and Homeless; and Our Military Personnel and Veterans.
Education and Libraries CSP - Promoting literacy and lifetime learning
GFWC members promote education in both children and adults. We aim to help others, while we also continue to learn. Projects in the Education Community Service Program are designed to foster schools, as well as other educational institutions and opportunities, and to promote literacy, libraries, and the love of a good book. Through these efforts, we encourage the growth of individuals and communities at home and around the world.
Environment CSP - Developing an appreciation for the environment and natural resource
The GFWC Environment Community Service Program encourages us to become stewards of the earth by working to preserve the world’s resources, protect wildlife and domesticated animals, live sustainably, and beautify our communities and enjoy nature.
Health and Wellness CSP - Creating a better quality of life for our citizens
The human body, mind, and spirit comprise our health and wellness. To improve our wellbeing, we must address three key components: nutrition, disease prevention, and physical and emotional care. This Community Service Program aims to explore the various opportunities for awareness and advancement of each of these vital areas.
